PROVO A Provo man has been arrested after police say he stabbed his 2-year-old daughter, mistakenly believing that another person was in bed with his wife.
Miguel Francisco Rodriguez-Vega, 34, was booked into the Utah County Jail for investigation of child abuse causing serious injury, six counts of domestic violence in the presence of a child, criminal mischief and intoxication.
Provo police received a call about 3:30 a.m. Wednesday of a mother rushing her 23-month-old daughter to the hospital after she had been stabbed in the foot, said Provo Police Sgt. Nisha King. The child received stitches and the injuries were not considered to be life-threatening.

Dad Stabs Toddler Daughter Thinking Wife Was In Bed With Someone Else
A man in Utah stabbed his toddler daughter thinking another person was in bed with his wife.
The Provo Police Department received a call from a woman saying her 2-year-old daughter had been stabbed and that she was rushing the toddler to the hospital. The incident took place around 3.30 a.m. local time (5.30 a.m. EDT) Wednesday,
Provo Police Sgt. Nisha King said the child was stabbed in the foot and her injuries were non-life-threatening, NBC-affiliated television station KSL reported. It was reported that a male had stabbed a bed and a child in the bed was injured. The child and mother were driving to the Provo emergency room, the probable cause statement said.
