The freeway is closed off between Klipspruit Valley Road and Golden Highway and JMPD has advised motorists to use Nirvana Drive through Lenasia and main road through Eldorado Park as alternative routes.
Protesting residents, a part of the Slovo Park community, took to the N12 highway on Monday morning between Klipspruit Valley Road and the Golden Highway, blocking motorists off in both directions.

The JMPD’s Xolani Fihla says motorists are advised to seek alternate routes
“Officers have been deployed as we have received reports of protests in Lenasia and that’s on K43 which has been blocked off with roads and burning tyres at Bangalore and Capella Street that’s nearer the Thembelihle informal settlement. It’s alleged that the community is protesting for insourcing of jobs in the area. Motorists are advised to exercise caution, rather avoid and use alternate routes.”
