AL observes âVictory Day for Democracyâ today

DHAKA, Dec 30, 2020(BSS) â Awami League observed Victory Day for Democracy today across the country marking the second anniversary of party’s victory in the 11th parliamentary election on December 30.
The 11th parliamentary election was a milestone in the country’s history of democracy and development as Bangladesh marched towards new journey of democracy overcoming darkness of violent politics and domination of evil forces and patrons of terrorists, militants and corrupt people through the elections, said a press release of AL.
Marking the day, the party took programmes including a discussion at the party’s Bangabandhu Avenue central office at 3pm, said a press release.

Awami League General Secretary and Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader said BNP is now carrying out evil attempts to make the Election Commission controversial after failing in all sectors.
“The people repeatedly boycotted BNP for its negative politics. BNP boycotts people’s verdict on the voting day as part of its evil efforts. Now BNP is trying to make the Election Commission controversial by raising allegations of corruption and misconduct,” he said.
Quader was addressing a discussion marking the Victory Day and distribution ceremony of Covid-19 protective equipment arranged by Awami Swechchhasebak League at the Institution of Diploma Engineers, Bangladesh (IDEB) auditorium here.
AL brings out jubilant processions as Padma Bridge becomes visibleÂ

DHAKA, Dec 11, 2020 (BSS) – Awami League and its associate bodies today brought out jubilant processions and distributed sweets in the capital congratulating Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina as the long-cherished Padma Bridge became fully visible with the installation of its last span on Thursday.
Leaders and workers of the party and associate bodies also held brief rallies. In the rallies, the speakers said Padma Bridge has become visible defying all conspiracies and obstacles.
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina took the bold decision of constructing the bridge with the domestic funds. Now Bangladesh stands with head held high as the 6.15 kilometer bridge over mighty river Padma has become visible completely.
