March 02 : A magistratesâ court in Mumbai issued a bailable warrant against Kangana Ranaut in a criminal complaint filed by veteran lyricist Javed Akhtar alleging defamation. After the actress did not appear before the court, the warrant was issued against her. The court had issued the summon to Kangana in February 2021.
Javed Akhtarâs advocate Vrinda Grover urged the court to issue the warrant as Ranaut did not comply with the court order neither her advocate filed any application seeking an exemption for her.

Actor Kangana Ranaut has been summoned by a metropolitan magistrate’s court in Mumbai on the basis of a complaint filed by lyricist and poet Javed Akhtar.
The summon notice was issued on Monday after the city police informed the court that further probe was required into the alleged offence of defamation. Akhtar was also present in the court and lawyer Niranjan Mundergi presented arguments on his behalf. Thereafter, the Andheri court issued a process against Ranaut for offences under sections 499 and 500 of the Indian Penal Code (IP
