Kcrgs phil reed joins us live in Kingston Village in cedar rapids. Phil, the citys given the businesses a deadline for removing those sandbags . They say they want sandbags removed by the end of the week. You can take them to one of the four dropoff sites including are waiting to be picked up. Theres still about ten businesses that need to get rid of them, and one owner i spoke to says he was surprised to find out he had to do it himself. The owner of next page books Bart Carithers keeps one of the sandbags he used to fight flood waters as a doorstop. It helps and the stress it caused him. It was one of the worries i had after the flood was how we was going to manage to get those sandbags out of here, i dont drive a truck, i drive a small car. Its that same judicial system that 9 wants to know decided to investigate as we asked are there other cases that resulted in more lenient sentences for younger defendants . Its very common with a young man factor that youd hear a defense attorney say, you cannot sentence this man to doc. Youll do more harm than good. Reporter we looked at 240 cases and found the younger the defendant is, the more likely that defendant is to receive a lighter sentence, something we have to look at, does the punishment fit the crime irrospective of crime. Good morning, colorado. Good morning, beautiful blue sky. This morning an amber alert to find a teenage girl is over. Denver Police Tweeted there was no crime committed and the girl was not abducted. The whole alert was confusing in and of itself. Dpd was not even sure the girl was abducted in the first place. It started with a call for police got from a witness that said the teen was being attacked by a man in stapleton. Police asked people to be on the lookout for a gray van that dpd tweeted again no abduction, no crime committed. So theres that. Colorado and 29th has reopened after a deadly accident. A pedestrian died after getting stuck by a car struck by a car in denver. The victim was rushed to the hospital and later died. West bound 29th was shut down while crews worked on clearing the crash.
