The DOT on March 25 closed the right lane of northbound 295 between Essex Avenue and an area near Browning Road in Bellmawr after a retaining wall shifted and partially collapsed.
The lane was closed until further notice as a safety precaution and to provide access for construction equipment, said DOT spokesman Steve Schapiro.
The shutdown is likely to cause congestion for northbound motorists on 295 and Route 42, according to the DOT.
The wall shifted in an area where workers are building a new portion of I-295 north of Browning Road, he said.
