It’s confirmed! Pharmaceutical and cosmetics manufacturers will have to pay for eliminating micropollutants in urban wastewater within the European Union. The two sectors will have to jointly cover at least 80% of the additional costs induced by the cleaning up. The whole package must still be officially approved by the EU’s member states.
On Wednesday, the 10th of April 2024, the European Union’s parliament approved a package of rules that will make the pharmaceutical and cosmetic.
