LOGAN SQUARE For the first time in 16 years, the Logan Square Farmers Market is skipping a summer weekend. The bustling Sunday market, voted the city’s best…
The market “is taking a pause this coming week as we continue to work on operating in the safest way possible for all to enjoy,” organizers said Wednesday in an email to vendors.
Unofficial sellers said they knew of the threat of ticketing by CPD, but were assured by the market’s director that an agreement with the city to let them go on selling was near.
Some say the unofficial vendors are taking advantage of foot traffic to sell without paying the permit fee. Others say the unofficial market is a ‘beautiful’ example of the community coming together post-pandemic.
