SILCHAR: During a special operation, BSF guards seized 60,000 Yaba tablets and arrested three persons involved in smuggling of the illegal tablets from Nilambazar in Karimganj along the Bangladesh border on Tuesday.
A BSF Mizoram and Cachar Frontier spokesman on Wednesday said that acting on a specific information, a BSF intelligence team along with troops from 134 BSF battalion and the local police launched an operation in Nilambazar area on Tuesday afternoon.
During the operation it was learnt that three suspected persons were going to have a deal regarding Yaba tablets near a shop owned by one of the suspect identified as Ashuk Ahmed, a resident of Nilam Bazar in Karimganj district. Swiftly moving into action, the BSF guards accosted the trio with immediate effect.
