Amarillo 4 @ Shreveport 5 (SO) - The Shreveport Mudbugs pulled off one of the most improbable comebacks of the season and clinched the South Division title in the process as they shocked the Amarillo Bulls 5-4 in a shootout. Trailing 4-2 with under two minutes remaining, Billy Feczko scored on the power play for his second of the night to bring Shreveport within one. Dawson Sciarrino lit the lamp just 30 seconds later to tie the game at four with his 11th of the year. Adam Kolcon scored the only goal of the shootout to give the Mudbugs the win and the division championship. Sean Bunting also scored in the win for Shreveport while Arseniy Sergeev stopped 33 shots in 65 minutes and all three shooters in the skills competition. Harrison Scott, Paul Schmid, Jere Vaisanen and Nick Siffringer all scored in the second period

Consistent Scoring Lifts Norsemen Past Bobcats BISMARCK, ND The St. Cloud Norsemen and Bismarck Bobcats faced off for the third straight game on Friday. The Bobcats scored the first goal of the game at the 8:48 mark of the opening period. Before time was up, the Norsemen responded with a goal of their own to tie up the game. St. Cloud scored early in the second period to take their first lead of the day. A few minutes later, Bismarck notched their second to re-tie the score 2-2. The Norsemen found the net again at the 17:55 mark and retook the lead 3-2.

LIGNITE – Working with glass is a delicate business, but Sandy Shefstad says there’s an enjoyment to it that more people should get to experience. Shefstad, the owner of A Touch of Glass Design, Lignite, has been working with stained glass and other art glass projects for more than 10 years. She has been teaching glass art classes in Powers Lake at the invitation of the Hygge Hotel, where her handiwork also is seen in pieces throughout the restored, historic building.

Saturday Scores: Mudbugs sweep; Norsemen break through for win

December 13, 2020 16-year-old goalie Paxton Geisel stopped 36 shots as the St. Cloud Norsemen won their first game of the season, defeating the Minot Minotauros 3-1. Odessa 2 @ Shreveport 3 (OT) - The Shreveport Mudbugs scored their second overtime win in consecutive nights as Dawson Sciarrino buried a highlight reel goal midway through the extra period. Sciarrino finished with a goal and an assist. Matt Weber’s power play goal got the Mudbugs on the board after Odessa got out to a 2-0 lead. Dilan Peters’ first goal of the season tied the game at two to force overtime and led to Sciarrino’s heroics. Cole Hudson picked up the win in between the pipes as he made 37 saves. Joey Musa and Ben Doherty were the goal scorers for Odessa and Connor Hasley made 31 stops.
