QED Investors among Collective’s $8.7M funders
Collective, an online back office platform designed for businesses-of-one, launched today and announced $8.65 million in funding to empower, support and connect the self-employed community comprising 36 per cent of the American workforce. The seventh week of the open online program for Greek and Cypriot tech startup founders, Greek Startup Universe, is on!
The program, which is a nonprofit initiative of Startup Greece and Founderhood, runs under the auspices of the General Secretariat for Greeks Abroad of the Hellenic Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Its main purpose is to support every early-stage Greek and Cypriot startup founder by building a global tech startup network. Since the beginning of the program on 2 March, the participating founders have delved into sectors like business development, product roadmap, and sales and marketing growth.
The last two weeks of the program have to do all about fundraising strategies, and this sector’s speakers are the investors, Niko Bonatsos and Apostolos Lerios.
A new initiative supported by Greece’s Foreign Affairs Ministry aims to connect innovative Hellenes, helping them take their early-stage tech startups to the next level.
The online program Greek Startup Universe is about to be launched by the StartupGreece non-profit organisation and Founderhood, with registrations open until 1 March.
Run under the auspices of the Secretariat General for Public Diplomacy and Greeks Abroad of the Hellenic Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the program will be free for all Greeks and Cypriots from across the globe who have a tech startup or a promising tech idea.
The Greek Startup Universe brings together strategic partners like GreekTech in New York, CyprusInno in Cyprus, and the Office of Economic and Commercial Affairs of the Consulate General of Greece in San Francisco.
Club Feast raises $3.5M to help restaurants deliver meals that only cost $5.99
Club Feast, a startup with a more affordable approach to meal delivery, is announcing that it has raised $3.5 million in seed funding led by General Catalyst.
The company was founded by Atallah Atallah, Ghazi Atallah and Chris Miao. The basic concept is pretty simple: Restaurant delivery that only costs $5.99 per dish cheaper than almost anything you’d find on other delivery services. (The startup also charges diners a $2 delivery fee, as well as a $1 fee for single meal orders.)
Atallah Atallah, who previously co-founded restaurant rewards company Seated and serves as Club Feast’s CEO, said the startup works with restaurants to select a few meals that they can afford to offer at the $5.99 price. Diners, meanwhile, sign up for a weekly meal plan and place their orders at least 24 hours ahead of time. The restaurant then knows exactly how much of a dish will be purchased, so they can plan ahead and
