The Coyotes almost did it, again.
Down 3-0 late, the Coyotes rallied to score two goals in the final 1:36 of regulation. They were one shot from pulling off their third straight, three-goal comeback, but Colorado staved off the final push.
Arizona fell by a 3-2 score, suffering just its second regulation loss in its previous seven games. It s kind of frustrating to see we have this kind of same pattern the last three games, said Niklas Hjalmarsson. Today, we obviously woke up a little bit too late.
Colorado built its three-goal lead with a goal in the second period and two goals in the third period.
Game Recap
The Arizona Coyotes may have learned the wrong lesson from Monday. Again they fell behind 3-0 and had to work their way back from a huge deficit. And though they may have won again, they can’t keep doing this.
Things started better than the last game, although it would have been hard to have a worse start. They had a few good looks, but they were having some difficulties clearing the zone.
Arizona getting the first power play helped. With Isac Lundestrom in the box for hooking, the Coyotes had an okay power play. The first unit had some good puck movement but not enough shots and the second had some zone entry issues.
