MURFREESBORO, Tenn. – The hill got a little steeper for Chattanooga teams playing in the 2021 state softball tournament here at the Starplex fields on Wednesday.
Baylor and GPS won opening round games on Wednesday morning, but the Bruisers got run-ruled by Baylor in their second game as the Lady Red Raiders improved to 25-1 with the 12-1 victory.
Sale Creek and Red Bank both posted impressive wins in their opening round games on Tuesday, but it was a different story on Wednesday as they both got beat.

Hannah Skiles didn’t have anything positive to show after her first three plate appearances on Monday evening, but the spirited Sale Creek senior more than made up for it the last time up.
It was a tense Region 3-A semifinal between the Harriman Lady Blue Devils and the Sale Creek Lady Panthers at Sale Creek’s Ruth and Clifford Kirk Field. It was a perfect evening for softball and the near-capacity crowd was rewarded with a really close game.
