Students around the country are struggling to read at grade level post-pandemic. National Family Literacy Month began on Nov. 1 with hopes to encourage reading and literacy in all ages, especially the youth. 40% of children in the U.S. are nonreaders, according to Scientific American while there is an astonishing 64% of eighth graders reading.
