Sources close to the Osu Palace have expressed displeasure at swift media reports that Nii Okwei Kinka Dowuona VI, President of the Osu Traditional Council has died without recourse to the palace.
“Where on earth in our traditional setting does a stranger bypass a child’s parents and announces its death?” an elder at the Osu King Dowuona’s palace asked, in displeasure.
A trio of elders who granted the Ghana News Agency (GNA) on Sunday, in Accra declined to be named, deny or confirm the announced death.
They announced that Dzasetse, the head of the kingmakers, would during the course of the week, hold press on the issue.

The Osu Mantse and President of the Greater Accra Regional House of Chiefs, Nii Okwei Kinka Dowuona VI, has passed on.
He reportedly died Saturday dawn sources in the Osu Palace have confirmed to Graphic Online.
He was 57-years-old.
As the Paramount Chief of Osu and President of the Osu Traditional Council, he was first elected President of the Greater Accra Regional House of Chiefs in 2016 and later re-elected for another term in 2020.
He was enstooled as the Osu Mantse in 2007.
He was born and named as Michael Dowuona-Owoo on November 7, 1963 at Adabraka in Accra to Nii Dowuona from Dowuona We of Osu Kinkawe and Madam Grace from the Wellington family of Osu Alata.
