Nihon University has officially moved to disband its renowned American football team after some members were arrested over the possession or purchase of illegal drugs, a source with knowledge of the matter said Friday.
Mariko Hayashi, chairperson of the board of trustees of Nihon University, held a news conference on Dec. 4 in connection with the university s American football team’s illegal drug scandal.
A 56-year-old Japanese man died on Sunday after a bungee jump from Macau Tower, plunging at speeds of around 200 kilometers per hour from a height of 233 meters.
No final decision has been made on the fate of Nihon University’s embattled American football program, according to the university’s board of trustees chairperson.
