The President Bola Tinubu-led Nigerian government on Monday night signed a 15-point memorandum with the organised labour – the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) and the Trade Union Congress of Nigeria (TUC) – in Abuja after an emergency session. SaharaReporters had earlier reported that the organised labour suspended its indefinite, nationwide strike which was billed for Tuesday, October 3. This was after both parties signed a 15-point memorandum of understanding as a last minute effort to avert the planned nationwide strike.
The organised labour rescinded the decision to go on with its planned strike in a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed by the representatives of the labour unions and the federal government on Monday.
