22 slapped with fines as police break up party in Accrington home SEVERAL fines were issued to coronavirus rule breakers after officers found more than 20 people inside a home. The police were called to Dunny Shop Avenue in Accrington late on Monday following reports from neighbours about a large gathering. Officers found several people inside the home, in breach of coronavirus rules. Current regulations state that in tier 3 areas, there should be no mixing of households unless with a person within your bubble. As a result of the breach 22 enforcement tickets were issued by officers to those present. Sgt Nigel Hindle said: “Whilst some people feel this is not what the police should be doing, it is what we must do, as those who continue to ignore the rules are contributing to the need for us to remain in Tier 3 and preventing a reduction in the spread of infections.
