Speak to any successful adviser about how they started out in the profession and chances are they will talk about their mentor, perhaps without even using the word.
Mentoring does not have to be a long-term formal arrangement or even labelled as such. It can take any form that suits the parties involved.
Contrary to popular belief, mentoring is not something that will only be of use to younger advisers or those at the start of the career either. More experienced advisers can also benefit – not only if they are moving into a new sector but from rewarding relationships they form with their own mentees, too.
