NieR Re[in]carnation is the next game in the depressing and weird world of the Drakengard spin off. NieR Re[in]carnation is a free to play mobile game supported by microtransactions. This title launched in Japan in February and today it became available for pre-registration on Google Play and the iOS AppStore. Players who pre-register through Google Play may be randomly selected to participate in an upcoming closed beta test. Additionally, if NieR Re[in]carnation reaches 300,000 pre-registrants, all players will receive 3,000 gems upon the game’s release, allowing them to complete one 10x Summon for free. Those who are fresh off experiencing the remastered Nier Replicant may be hungry for more of the dystopian, post-apocalyptic fantasy universe built by director Yoko Taro. The wait for what s next does not appear to be very long. On Tuesday, Square Enix announced that pre-registration for mobile game Nier Reincarnation, the next chapter in the Nier saga, is now open.
The news of this pre-registration period comes one week after it was teased by Square Enix. Nier Reincarnation is a collaborative effort between Square and Applibot that tells the story of an unknown young girl who wakes up in a mysterious place known only as The Cage. Players will journey through The Cage, aided by a guide calling herself Mama, and will seek to learn about identity, loss, and atonement. Reincarnation is being billed as the next major chapter in the Nier series and is helmed by Creative Director Yoko Taro, Composer Keiichi Okabe, and Producer Yosuke Saito. NieR Reincarnation Director Daichi Matsukawa took to the game’s official Twitter account to update people on the English localization. The team has finished localizing the initial release, and they are currently making final adjustments leading to the title’s pre-registration period. Additionally, the Twitter account shared a glimpse of the English version in action, showcasing Mama’s voice acting.
After announcing that the team has finished the English localization for
NieR Reincarnation, Matsukawa ended his status update on an exciting note. He asked fans to wait a bit longer and look forward to an announcement. The director specifically called out the title’s release in North America and Europe.
