River Valley student hosting livestock show people with disabilities

Kyla Stockdale has participated in the Marion County Fair since she was a child, showing off her dairy feeders or dairy heifers in the livestock competitions. Now, the 17-year-old wants to help others have those same experiences. Stockdale is organizing the Open Hearts Livestock Show for this year s fair, which is exclusively for participants with developmental disabilities. The show is open to anyone in the community from ages 8 to 21 and will include presenting pigs, rabbits and/or goats. Open Hearts will take place July 2. The River Valley High School junior said she came up with the idea a few years ago when she was at a 4-H camp.
