CHELSEA Under-23s assistant Eric Ramsay has been appointed as Manchester United’s first set piece specialist and individual development coach.
Manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer identified set pieces - defensive ones in particular - as an area that the team needed to improve last season.
Ramsay, 29, joined Chelsea from Shrewsbury - where he had been first-team coach - in August 2019. He is regarded as one of the most promising young British coaches and became the youngest to gain the Uefa Pro Licence in September 2019, at the age of 27.
Solskjaer said: “We ve been fortunate enough to convince Eric Ramsay to come and join the best club in the world and in the country.
