Man in hospital after crash between car and ambulance A MAN remains in hospital with very serious injuries after a crash between a car and an ambulance which shut a road near York. North Yorkshire Police say they are now appealing for witnesses to a collision, as The Press reported at the time, happened in Sheriff Hutton on Sunday (23 May). It involved a white Ford Fiesta and an ambulance and the driver of the car, a man in his 40s, sustained very serious injuries and currently remains in hospital. The ambulance was responding to another incident when the collision happened, at around 5.55pm on Moor Lane, near Lilling Lane and Rice Lane.
POLICE are appealing for witnesses to a serious accident. North Yorkshire Police is appealing for information after collision which occurred in Sheriff Hutton on Sunday, May 23 and involved a white Ford Fiesta and an ambulance. They say the driver of the car, a man in his 40s, sustained very serious injuries and currently remains in hospital. A spokesperson for the force said: “The ambulance was responding to another incident when the collision happened, at around 5.55pm on Moor Lane, near Lilling Lane and Rice Lane. “Investigators are asking anyone who saw either vehicle in the moments leading up to the collision, anyone who dashcam footage, or anyone who has any other information to contact North Yorkshire Police.”
Man dies after being hit by van A MAN has died after being hit by a van on the A64. North Yorkshire Police say the accident happened on the westbound carriageway in the area of Askham Bryan at about 12.50am yesterday (Sunday 28 February) and led to the death of a 23-year-old pedestrian who was hit by a Volkswagen van. Enquiries are ongoing to determine if a second vehicle was also involved. A police spokesman said: It is believed that the man may have been in the area of Askham Bryan College prior to the incident and officers are appealing to anyone in the area who may have seen a man walking wearing a top with a distinctive pattern, and to anyone who witnessed the collision or has any dashcam footage to contact them.
