As a result of increase demand for LNG in the road transport sector, Grain LNG in March broke its previous monthly loading record – filling 310 cryogenic tankers with the fuel. Further highlighting such demand, it was reported that a total of 2,149 tankers filled up at the facility in 2020 and National Grid expects utilisation to increase by as much as 80% over the course of 2021. Commenting on the recent milestone, Nicola Duffin, Commercial Director, Grain LNG, said, “Helping society decarbonise is a strategic priority for National Grid. Grain LNG was therefore delighted to welcome the Gasrec vehicle that collected the 10,000th load of LNG from the terminal.”
