A Workington primary school is taking back control of a town park in a campaign aimed at making the playing area a safer space. St Patrick’s Primary School ’s mission to improve the playing space at Vulcans Park is part of their involvement in the Centre for Leadership Performance’s Bright Stars project for primary schools. The children reported that they did not feel safe because of both the equipment and ongoing anti-social behaviour. Last week, the school created a survey asking members of the community about safety at the park and how it can best be approved. It would appear that the public is on their side.
