CLEVELAND, Ohio Franmil Reyes and Zach Plesac took the pressure off Amed Rosario, who was starting in center field for the first time in his major league career Friday for the Cleveland Indians.
Reyes blasted a pair of home runs, including a two-run shot in the first inning, and Plesac dominated Detroit hitters with seven scoreless innings as the Indians captured a 4-1 victory at Progressive Field.
Emmanuel Clase slammed the door in the ninth for his second career save, his first since Aug. 30, 2019 against Seattle as a member of the Texas Rangers. Clase struck out a pair of Tigers with an array of fastballs and sinkers that eclipsed the 100 mph mark.
