Brentford have made an improved offer of €40million (£34.2m) for Fiorentina winger Nico Gonzalez.The west London club are seeking attacking reinforcements, with Gonzalez one of a number of names on their wishlist. Thomas Frank's side made an initial bid of around €30m (£25.9m) for the winger earlier this month.The 25-year-old Argentina international contributed 14 goals and five assists during 42 Fiorentina appearances last season.Brentford have widened their transfer net after seeing an offer of £35m plus potential adds-ons rejected by Nottingham Forest for Brennan Johnson last month.Gonzalez, who has won 24 caps for his country, is currently under contract until 2026. A left-footed forward, Gonzalez featured on both flanks for Fiorentina last season.Brentford have made forward Kevin Schade’s loan a permanent move this summer but will be without striker Ivan Toney until January after he was banned for eight months for breaking betting rules.Frank's side have started
