Bear Milacek, a 6-foot-3, 210-pound quarterback from Boulder Creek High in Anthem, Arizona, said his excitement to join the University of New Mexico football team turned up a notch after the Lobos ended their season with two straight wins.
Milacek, who made figurative fireworks when he announced his commitment to UNM on the Fourth of July via Twitter, is one of at least 18 recruits expected to sign with the Lobos on Wednesday.
It was a challenging recruiting process for UNM, with a first-year coach, Danny Gonzales and recruits who were restricted from official visits due to the coronavirus pandemic and subsequent recruiting rules.
