A BOY from Llanidloes has smashed a fundraising challenge by swimming the distance of the English Channel. It took Bailey Morgan under seven weeks to swim 22 miles, or 2,082 lengths at the Llanidloes Sports Centre swimming pool. It was part of the Aspire Channel Swim challenge to help raise money for people affected by spinal cord injury. The total distance could have been shared between members of a team, but at only 10 years old at the time Bailey chose to swim the full distance alone. More than 35,000 metres later, the Ysgol Llanidloes pupil raised £500 for the charity. Dad Ross and mum Marie spoke of their pride at their son for completing the challenge.

Zurich has released a pre-application tool that aims to reduce the time needed to provide indicative terms for advisers.
The insurer says that its new software, which saves all records on one dashboard, supports 90 per cent of all current pre-application enquiries that are currently handled through its telephone-based support – which will remain in place, it adds.
Advisers will be able to enter information such as client age, nicotine usage and required sum assured, with a choice of entering extra information such as lifestyle and medical history or using standard assumptions.
