How chart-topper Chesney Hawkes helped Clitheroe couple find their missing dog

A woman who lost her dog was blown away by the support she got from the community and social media – with chart-topper Chesney Hawkes even helping out! Nicola Cootes, 49, and her husband Adam Cootes, 50, of Clitheroe, lost their Yorkshire terrier, Boddington on Friday afternoon while they were walking at the Nick O Pendle. Boddington darted off when a red hang-glider flew past them and they searched for him for some hours without any luck. After talking to some people locally about his disappearance, Nicola was told to share posts on social media which led to a huge number of people coming together to help.

Sir Wiggo to return to East Lancashire for Ride with Brad

CYCLING superstar Bradley Wiggins will be returning to East Lancashire next year for the second ‘Ride with Brad’ event. The newly knighted Tour de France winner and Olympic gold medalist will be leading cyclists on a route around Pendle and the Ribble Valley. Last year over 1,400 cyclists followed ‘Sir Wiggo’ on the route, with 10,000 spectators lining the scenic route. This year’s event, organised by Pennine Events and the Bradley Wiggins Foundation, will take place on August 18 and will offer a 100km or 160km route, accompanied by the man himself. And organisers expect this year’s to be even bigger than last year, with over 3,000 people set to take part.
