Construction has begun on a new development of nearly 100 homes near one of Somerset s rural enterprise centres.
CONSTRUCTION has begun on a development of 94 homes in Wiveliscombe. The Barratt Homes scheme is at Sandys Moor, opposite the rural enterprise centre of offices and light industrial units on the former Karro Foods factory site. The new development will comprise a mixture of two-, three- and four-bedroom houses, including 24 affordable homes. The new Elworthy Place estate takes its name from an unfinished Iron Age hill fort called Elworthy Barrows on the edge of the Exmoor National Park. Nicki Reid, sales director for Barratt David Wilson Homes Exeter, said: “We are delighted to be starting to build these much-needed new homes on the edge of Wiveliscombe, helping to meet the known housing need for people in the local area.
