The LSU Library in the Quad is a frequently visited building on campus, but whatâs the deal with Hill Memorial Library?
Hill Memorial Library, steps away from the main library, is currently under renovation to become more known and accessible to students.
Hill Memorial is one of the four original buildings on LSUâs campus, according to Associate Dean, Technology and Special Collections of LSU Libraries Gina Costello. Costello said Hill Memorialâs renovation aims to return to what the library used to be prior to 1958, before the main library opened.
Costello said the renovations should be complete by late August and she hopes it can be a well-known building on campus to study, read and learn about the history of the university and Louisiana. She said she wants Hill Memorial to have a âHogwartsâ like look with beautiful interiors that overlook campus. POPLARVILLE, Miss. (WLOX) -Wearing their golden pants Sunday, the No. 3 Pearl River baseball Wildcats walked off visiting Northeast in Game 1, 13-5, in seven innings to clinch the program’s fourth MACCC Championship. In the nightcap, PRCC scored early and held on late to tame the Tigers 8-6.
“I’m proud of them. It doesn’t hit you until right now. How tough what we did all year was. How tough this year was on us and how special that group behind me is,” Pearl River coach Michael Avalon said. “We came out and swung the bats. They had their best guy on the mound and I knew we would have to battle. I was kind of glad that we were trailing because you saw the heart of a champion when they battled back.

POPLARVILLE, Miss. (PRCC Athletics) - No. 7 Pearl River found two different ways to sweep archrival Gulf Coast on Wednesday at Dub Herring Park. After rallying late to claim a pitcherâs duel in the opener 2-1 in 10 innings, Pearl River then put together two huge innings in Game 2 to take a 10-6 victory and secure the second sweep of MGCCC on the season.
âIâm proud of our guys,â Pearl River coach Michael Avalon said. âThis is a rivalry series for us. Those guys threw their best punch at us and I was proud that we handled it and found a way to win two games.â

Three years ago, the Wildcats claimed the MACJC Championship. In 2019 the Wildcats earned the Region XXIII Title and claimed a World Series berth. Ranked No. 5 in the NJCAA, PRCC looked poised for another run in 2020 up until the season was squashed.
