Washington interviews Marty Hurney for general manager job: report Follow Us Question of the Day     By Matthew Paras - The Washington Times - Monday, January 18, 2021 Coach Ron Rivera and other members of the Washington Football Team met with Marty Hurney to discuss the team’s vacant general manager on Monday, according to a new report.  The NFL Network reported that Hurney is the “top candidate” for the vacancy. Washington has spent the last week interviewing candidates, speaking to Tennessee’s Ryan Cowden, San Francisco’s Martin Mayhew and have requested to speak with other candidates like Atlanta’s Nick Polk and the Chargers’ JoJo Wooden.

Washington adds three more names to their GM search, including an in-house candidate not named Kyle Smith Search is on Geoff Burke-USA TODAY Sports The Washington Football Team’s search for a new GM is expanding quickly and we have three new names added to the list. They join the previously reported candidates Ryan Cowden and Martin Mayhew. Cowden was interviewed on Thursday, and Mayhew is expected to be interviewed on Saturday. Related The first newly reported candidate is Atlanta Falcons Director of Football Operations Nick Polk. He has been the Director of Football Operations for over a decade, and according to his bio works closely with GM Thomas Dimitroff on contract proposals, negotiations, and salary cap management. He also has experience working in NFL Europe and the Arena League. Polk also has experience coaching at several colleges.
