TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) Indiana State University hosted its Human Rights Day event Tuesday. Traditionally, hundreds of high school students come to the ISU campus, but the pandemic transformed it into a virtual event that students watched from their schools.
Two speakers were featured. Derek Rhodes was the keynote speaker, and his address, How to Change the World, concerned how his personal experience led to community engagement. In 2015, Rhodes served as an intern during the Obama Administration, which he said inspired him to create change. He spoke on how to become an active citizen at a young age.
