LAS VEGAS (AP) The head of Nevada’s boxing regulatory agency said Tuesday that a fraternity charity boxing match that left a University of Nevada, Las Vegas student dead of head injuries was not licensed by the Nevada Athletic Commission, but will be investigated.
"Kappa Sigma Fraternity expects all of our chapters to conform with all applicable state and local laws," Mitchell Wilson said Thursday in a statement.
The Kappa Sigma fraternity chapter at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV) was suspended by its national organization and the school after a student died in an amateur boxing match that it organized.
