The Sheldon Panthers overcame a double-digit deficit going into the fourth quarter Tuesday night and posted a 50-46 victory against the St. Elizabeth Hornets in Class 1 boys state sectional action at Nevada High School.
The Jefferson City American Legion Post 5 Juniors posted a 3-1 record this past weekend in the Chuck Wiley Memorial Premier Event, finishing in a tie for third place out of 16 teams.

South Iron struggled in the first half, played better in the second half and dominated the final two minutes of overtime to rally past the St. Elizabeth Hornets for a 56-47 victory Friday afternoon at Great Southern Bank Arena.
The St. Elizabeth Hornets feel like they’re finally getting in a routine. After playing just seven games in the first four weeks of the baseball season, St. Elizabeth capped its busiest week of the season Saturday with a two-game sweep at Haley Field, blanking the Lone Jack Mules 12-0 in five innings and defeating the New Bloomfield Wildcats 8-5.
