After a change in regulation last month, rosé Prosecco has finally been approved as an export by the EU, as long as producers adhere to strict regulations. In response, an array of UK retailers, from national supermarkets like Morrisons and Aldi, to luxury department store Harvey Nichols, have brought out their own blushing bubbly in time for Christmas.
Aldi Prosecco Rosé DOC
Early to the pink Prosecco party, with producers granted permission to sell rosé Prosecco outside of Italy for the first time on 2 November, Aldi brought out its Prosecco Rosé DOC on the very same day. According to the retailer it offers “floral aromas on the nose and a palate offering a mix of summer fruits with a hint of strawberry and peach”, and should be served at 6-8 degrees.
