Police have released the identity of a person who died in a fiery crash April 28 on U.S. 36 near Dana in Vermillion County.
Sarah Nichole Murphy, 38, of West Terre Haute, died at the scene, said Sheriff Mike Phelps. Murphy was identified by DNA, and her family was notified Tuesday.
Two vehicles collided head-on, resulting in entrapment and a fire. A witness told police that one vehicle crossed the center line, overcorrected and went out of control.
Motorist Shane Moran, 46, of Chrisman, Illinois, was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment, Phelps said.
An Indiana State Police accident reconstruction team assisted in the investigation.
