Police reports: Assault, threats, meth

North Platte police officers and sheriff’s deputies responded to two dangerous weapon reports in recent days.
The most recent case was reported at 12:30 a.m. Tuesday by a 911 caller. Sheriff’s deputies were dispatched to check out the reported assault at a home on U.S. Highway 30, just west of North Platte.
The caller said a man entered the home and started swinging a baseball bat around.
Deputies as well as police officers converged on the scene, where they found an assailant on top of another man, actively assaulting him, the sheriff’s office said.
