Indianapolis Public Library Board member Stephen Lane abruptly resigned Thursday just before the Indianapolis Public Schools Board was prepared to vote on a resolution to remove him.
Hayes, the librarian at the center of a months-long controversy over the Indianapolis Public Library CEO selection process, left as part of a mutual decision, according to the library system's board of trustees.
In a statement released on Jan. 3, Indianapolis Public Library announced the departure of Nichelle M. Hayes, director of the Center for Black Literature and Culture (CBLC) and former interim CEO.
