Groom arrives on a
short-term contract until the end of the 2020/21 season, following his recent
departure from Scottish outfit Edinburgh.
Groom had joined
Edinburgh from the Lions in 2019 and made 22 appearances, scoring six tries.
The South African is however no stranger to Premiership rugby,
having made 49 appearances for Northampton Saints between 2016 and 2018.
Before that, the 31-year-old
spent five years at Western Province and the Stormers (2011-2016).
The 5ft 8in playmaker has one South Africa A cap and one
Barbarians appearance to his name.

A PASSING TRAIN driver helped Glasgow Warriors get back on track as Danny Wilson’s team climbed off the bottom of their Guinness Pro14 conference with a 23-22 triumph over Edinburgh.
It was full steam ahead for the capital outfit when Jamie Farndale grabbed the opening try of the derby thriller.
But a blunder by Edinburgh scrum-half Nic Groom, who mistook the horn from a locomotive chugging behind Scotstoun’s North Stand for the half-time buzzer, saw Edinburgh hit the buffers.
