The Niagara Purple Eagles dropped their third game in a row on Sunday as they fell 6-2 to the #20 Robert Morris Colonials.
The Colonials opened up the scoring early in the first, and would add three at the start of the second before the Purple Eagles managed to get on the board.
Robert Morris would respond with a goal of their own before the end of the period. They added one more goal at the start of the third, before Ryan Naumovski scored on the powerplay for Niagara to complete the 6-2 scoreline.
Sioux Lookout’s Brandon Stanley picked up an assist on Naumovski’s goal. The former U18 Kenora Thistle now has six points (one goal, five assists) in ten games this season.

Sioux Lookout’s Brandon Stanley was held to only two shots Thursday night as his Niagara Purple Eagles fell 3-2 to the #20 Robert Morris Colonials in overtime.
The Purple Eagles held a 2-1 lead with less than five minutes to go in regulation when Brendon Michaelian scored to bring the Colonials even.
Michaelian, an alternate captain for Robert Morris, would then beat Niagara goalie Michael Corson in the extra frame to seal the win.
Stanley, who spent two seasons with the U18 Kenora Thistles, has five points (one goal, four assists) through eight games this season.

Sioux Lookout’s Brandon Stanley had an assist as his Niagara Purple Eagles fell 6-3 to the #10 Clarkson Golden Knights.
Clarkson took a 1-0 lead midway through the first period thanks to Anthony Romano, but the two teams would head to the dressing rooms tied after Jack Billings scored on the powerplay for Niagara as the clock expired.
The Golden Knights would add two more in the second and one in the third before the Purple Eagles got one back. Stanley picked up the lone helper on Ryan Cox’s second goal of the season to make it a 4-2 game.

Sioux Lookout’s Brandon Stanley was held off the scoresheet Tuesday afternoon as his Niagara Purple Eagles fell 5-4 to the R.I.T. Tigers in NCAA men’s D1 hockey action.
The Purple Eagles got out to an early 1-0 lead but the Tigers would come back with two of their own before the end of the first to take the lead and wouldn’t look back.
Through six games this year, Stanley has two points (one goal, one assist) and two penalty minutes.
The former U18 Kenora Thistle is in his second season with University of Niagara having put up 11 points (six goals, five assists) in 33 games his freshman year.
