Niagara Falls Memorial cancels COVID-19 vaccine clinics, cites supply shortage

NIAGARA FALLS, N.Y. Vaccinations clinics planned for next week have been canceled due to a supply shortage, Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center announced Friday afternoon.
The hospital says supply has not kept pace with demand, so clinics that were scheduled to start Monday and end next Friday will not happen. As soon as we receive new vaccine shipments we will reschedule the clinics, the hospital said in a statement. Rest assured we are diligently working to get more vaccine doses delivered to our community. Thank you in advance for your patience and your cooperation.
Niagara Falls Memorial to provide COVID-19 vaccine to select high-risk groups
Hospital has been designated by NYS Department of Health to vaccinate groups including EMS personnel and congregate living residents and staff.

NIAGARA FALLS, N.Y. The New York State Department of Health has directed Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center to provide COVID-19 vaccines to select high-risk groups that provide services outside the hospital.
Those groups with designated Priority A-1 status include:
Emergency medical services personnel
Medical examiners, coroners and funeral workers
Agency staff and residents living in congregate living situations run by the state Office Persons with Developmental Disabilities (OPWDD)

BUFFALO, N.Y. Initial doses of the Pfizer COVID vaccine are in the process of being sent to hospitals across New York state.
Erie County Executive Mark Poloncarz says there was a distribution issue with doses slated for Erie County Medical Center.
This is the second time in two days we re hearing of doses being delivered to other health care systems, rather than the ones they re supposed to go.
