HONOLULU, Hawaii (HawaiiNewsNow) - Travel executives and business leaders say Hawaii needs a more unified travel program that streamlines the process for visitors.
âThe inconsistent travel rules are really having a dramatic impact on our businesses across the islands,â said Rob Robinson, Springboard Hospitality vice president.
He and others say the current rules are confusing, which is slowing tourism and costing them money.

HONOLULU, Hawaii (HawaiiNewsNow) - Honolulu police have captured a wanted man suspected of a string of violent crimes.
Keith Catolico, 40, was charged with robbery and burglary on Thursday.
Sources say officers are working to connect him to several other crimes as well.
The crimes Catolico are allegedly a part of date back to at least November of last year. Investigators say up until a few days ago, he was still causing chaos.

HONOLULU, Hawaii (HawaiiNewsNow) - The Maui Prosecutor’s Office is questioning the release of a woman who was filmed on camera last week pointing a firearm at a victim.
Melanie Sauer, 49, was arrested last Tuesday in Makawao and charged with assault, terroristic threatening and firearms offenses. Authorities say the gun was loaded and it was reported stolen in West Virginia.

HONOLULU, Hawaii (HawaiiNewsNow) - Floating windfarms can be found in Europe and are being talked about in places like California. Now, they could be a reality in the Hawaiian Islands.
National Renewable Energy Laboratory is studying how much would a floating windfarm cost in waters off Oahu. However, like the turbines on land, some in Hawaii say they wonât be welcome.
âLooking at the beautiful ocean and beautiful Diamond Head and see ugly windmills in the middle of the ocean,â said Ewa Beach state Sen. Kurt Fevella.
