Te Uru Rākau acting deputy director general Henry Weston says the aim is to restore native trees and biodiversity and improve waterways. Between 15 and 20 jobs will be created for propagation, tree planting and maintenance, and Matakawau Community Nursery will increase seedling production from 15,000 to 62,500 stems a year.
