11.47: Reduced speed limit on State Highway 1 There is a reduced speed limit on State Highway 1 from Tawa to Porirua, due to work being done on Transmission Gully. There are also temporary barriers, a reduction in lane width, and large vehicles moving in and out of the workds site. Waka Kotahi NZTA urged motorists to take care and adhere to the speed limit at all times.

3.39pm: Work on Paremata pipe completed Wellington Water has completed work on the pipe between the Aotea turnoff and Paremata, but the pipe remains fragile. Chief Adviser Wastewater, Steve Hutchison said the two northbound lanes on State Highway 1 were expected to reopen at 3.30pm. “We would like to thank members of the public for their patience. ”Despite the repair, our investigations have shown the pipe remains in a fragile condition.
