Pandemic life is full of struggles for people everywhere but for those less fortunate, the cold winter weather is just one more difficulty to bear. This is why âComfort Coatsâ was conceivedâ and in a small but sincere way. Concerned women from our area (and a few men) collected more than 350 coats in November and December, and delivered the cozy âcomfortâ attire to Annaâs Place in Chester, Community Center at Visitation in Kensington and Hub of Hope (Project Home) in Philadelphia.
The ask came through email, cell phone, and texting, and, due to Covid concerns, volunteers and coat collectors only came in contact with each other when coats were delivered. Generous supporters included Coeli Hilferty, who offered her pop up store âPilot and Powellâ in Suburban Square as a drop off location, Joan Hilferty, who helped deliver coats to Anna s Place administrators. Susie Mita, along with family and friends collected and delivered coats. Katie and Pier
