NEOSHO, Mo. — Community members will gather with the staff of Clark Funeral Home to present the annual kick-off check to the Newton County Food Basket Brigade at 9 a.m.
Each $1 provides up to five meals fort local families
Arvest Bank kicked off its 11th annual Million Meals campaign, which will continue through May 29.
The campaigns goal is to provide at least one million meals to those in need and it benefits more than 90 locally selected organizations throughout Arvests four-state footprint.
The campaign is particularly needed in Missouri, which ranks among the 21 most food-insecure states in the nation, according to the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA).
Arvest, in Southwest Missouri, will partner with Joplin Bright Futures, Newton County Food Basket Brigade, Monett Kitchen, Carthage Bright Futures, Lockwood Ministerial Alliance, Lamar Good Samaritan Shop, Nevada Community Outreach, Webb City Cares and Carl Junction Bright Futures for the Million Meals initiative.

Apr. 15 Arvest Bank has launched its 11th annual Million Meals campaign to provide at least 1 million meals to those in need throughout the Four-State Area.
Southwest Missouri agencies that will benefit from the campaign include Crosslines of McDonald County in Anderson, Harvest Church in Aurora, Carthage Bright Futures, Cassville Community Food Pantry, Joplin Bright Futures, the Good Samaritan Shop in Lamar, Monett Community Kitchen and Food Pantry, Newton County Food Basket Brigade in Neosho, Nevada Community Outreach and Backpacks of Love Program, Carl Junction Bright Futures and Webb City CARES.
