Date nears for TX city to vote on pro-life sanctuary

A Texas city full of pro-lifers is preparing to declare their community pro-life territory over the objections of their city council members.
After the Lubbock City Council turned down an effort last year to adopt an ordinance declaring the city a “Sanctuary City for the Unborn,” the community went to work to put the matter before voters.
That vote is now coming soon, May 1.
The ordinance states that abortion is not legal in the city limits, which was viewed by some public officials as a legally dubious claim that invites lawsuits, though many other municipalities have adopted it.

REDDING, Calif. - The Johnson & Johnson vaccine could soon be in Shasta County.
Shasta County health leaders said the vaccine could arrive early as next week. It’s still unknown how many doses the county will be receiving.
Public Health said it’s still ironing out the distribution details. The Johnson & Johnson is a one-dose vaccine, which doesn’t need to be stored at extreme temperatures like the Moderna or Pfizer vaccines.
