OPELIKA, Ala. (WTVM) - An East Alabama technology company is making nationwide impacts on law enforcement agencies and the communities they serve.
“It’s very rewarding,” said Kevin Cummings with OCV, LLC.
OCV, LLC, an Opelika-based company, is the mastermind behind mobile apps used by about 500 public safety organizations across the country, such as sheriff’s offices and emergency management agencies.
The Opelika Police Department is one of the most recent to get their own app with the company.

AUBURN, Ala. (WTVM) - As states are rolling back COVID-19 restrictions, some vaccine providers in Alabama are seeing a decrease in demand for vaccines. Some providers in the state have decided to stop administering shots altogether, but several in East Alabama said they are not ready to close up shop yet.
Pharmacist Barbara Hardwick has made it her mission to vaccinate all of Russell County against COVID-19.

AUBURN, Ala. (WTVM) - Auburn-based Aptar CSP Technologies has designed and is producing a special piece of technology that is used in two COVID-19 tests that recently received Emergency Use Authorization from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration.
These at-home tests prevent people from having to visit a doctor’s office to determine if they have the virus.
According to the President of Aptar CSP Technologies, John Belfance, the company is manufacturing a special film that’s used in the dipstick of the tests. He told News Leader Nine this film protects against moisture and the outside environment to ensure the test’s integrity.

EAST ALABAMA (WTVM) - In east Alabama, most K-12 schools are continuing like normal when it comes to the spring break holiday, but Auburn University is taking a different approach this semester because of COVID-19.
Eufaula City Schools will have their spring break starting at the end of March.
âFrom talking to the people in the school system and the people in the community, we know people are going to travel,â said superintendent Joey Brannan.
